Side B of my post about living in the here and now, just for today, is an article I read on the Scientific American website this morning, "Wisdom from Psychopaths?" "…the principles and practices of what might otherwise be described as mindfulness is typical of the psychopath. A psychopath's rapacious proclivity to live in the moment, to “give tomorrow the slip and take today on a joyride” (as Larry, rather whimsically, puts it), is well documented—and at times can be stupendously beneficial." What if our proclivity for awesomeness is also what makes us vulnerable to slipping over the edge into insanity? Makes you wonder. Why not take today on a wee joyride?
Thanks for reading, Cami p.s. Your good juju today: What makes us vulnerable may just be what makes us awesome. Comments are closed.
