"Work-Life Balance" is Bogus! What to Strive For Instead?
While there are tons of self-help books about it, Cami explains why true work-life balance is actually impossible. "Work-life balance" implies not only that work and life are separate, but that both parts are always equal and need to be in stasis. This couldn't be farther from the truth! Audiences will learn…
  • how a work-life balance can be the death of creativity,
  • what's better to strive for than balance, and…
  • how to survive and thrive using real-world examples and techniques.

Giving Presentations that Move People
Need to give a presentation that moves your audience to pay attention? To donate? To sign up? To fund your big idea? As a veteran presenter, Cami shares the worst mistakes of presentations gone wrong, examples of the best presentations, and the formula proven to MOVE audiences into action!

The Business of Freelancing: Where Do You Start?

You want to start a freelancing business, but don't know what to charge, don't know if you can ask for a deposit, and then there's contracts — where do you even start!? You don't know what you don't know! As a successful freelancer coach, Cami covers all the crucial basics for what you need to start a successful freelancing business.

Come Sit Next to Me: Solving Conflicts with Candor and Grace
Things don’t always go as planned. Conflicts arise between clients and creatives or between managers and producers; add in a looming deadline and you have potential for heated drama. Cami explains her fail-proof, step-by-step method to defuse conflicts.
Audiences will learn how to…
  • diffuse emotions that run high in conflicts,
  • remain in control with clearly defined objectives, and
  • create solutions that everyone is satisfied with.

Creatives: How to Make Your Clients Love You
In her 25+ years as a designer, one of the things Cami has excelled at is creating long-term, loyal clients. She’s never never blown a budget, only missed one deadline (because a 200-year old tree fell on her house & cars!), and has never had a dissatisfied client. What?? It’s true! Learn her tried-and-true methods for making your clients fall in love with you. Audiences learn how to…
  • set and meet deadlines that their clients love,
  • utilize transparent communication to foster mutual trust, and
  • educate clients to better understand and utilize the creatives' mindset and skillset.

Love Your Talent—How to Get What You Need from Your Creatives
Creatives share three traits. They like doing things their way, they prefer to produce ideas on their own, and they stubbornly go against the grain. While that sounds like a manager’s nightmare, knowing how to best utilize that skillset will not only make you love your talent, it will make them love doing work for you.
Audiences will learn how to…
  • set and maintain deadlines that their creatives meet,
  • motivate creatives to produce great work, and
  • better understand and utilize the creative mindset and skillset.

Put Down the Shovel! How to Pull Yourself Out of a Creative Rut
The first step in getting out of a rut is to put down the shovel and notice that your creative groove has become too predictable. You’ve dug yourself into not just a rut but a trench too high to see out of. What will you do? Keep on digging, or put down the shovel and get the heck out? Every creative gets stuck in ruts and Cami has been in her share of trenches in her 25+ years in the design industry. In this hilarious talk she will share how quantum physics, caterpillars and cilantro can help you get your groove back.

Workshop: DIY Branding for (Scrappy) Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs' focus is rightly on the product or service they’re offering, not their brand as a whole. When it comes to branding, they don’t know what they don’t know. This workshop gives entrepreneurs a massive leg-up with a checklist of all the things their brand includes and an awareness of how each can impact their overall success. Attendees walk away with a checklist they can work through themselves—if they're truly scrappy. If they can’t do it all  themselves (and I don't recommend they do), they’ll have an industry contact who can help them find the experts they need for a successful, well-developed brand.

praise for cami's talks

"It's refreshing when you have the opportunity to work with a true professional. Cami Travis-Groves is exactly that, and more. I had the honor of working with Cami as she was a speaker at Revolve Conference. Not only was she amazingly easy to work with, I also appreciated her passion, enthusiasm and her energy. Her presentation provided attendees with valuable insight and actionable takeaways, and easily became one of the best sessions of the day. Attendees had glowing reviews of her talk and encouraged us to invite her to speak again."
— Karl Hudson Phillips, Founder, Revolve Conference, Charleston, SC

“I attended Cami’s talk at HOW Design Live in San Francisco. She not only helped me to better deal with conflict in the workplace, she was also incredibly inspiring. Her charisma and passion showed throughout her talk. The audience was engaged and quick to participate. If you’re looking for somebody to inspire your team, help non-designers understand design and process, or get them to better deal with conflict in the workplace (and home life) then I would highly recommend Cami!”
— Kray Mitchell, Technologist, Speaker, Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada

“When I saw Cami had a session on conflict resolution, I had to go. Conflict resolution is something many people speak about, but hardly any give you what you need. Cami gives you the tools to use when you return to your real life, and I have used them several times with great success. Through examples from her life and crowd interaction, she teaches you how to be a better communicator and solve conflicts with everyone walking away satisfied.”
— Julie Goldsberry, Graphic Designer, Chicago, IL

"When Cami speaks, people listen. She is a lovely human being with a gift for sharing her wisdom with grace and humor."
— Peleg Top, Business Coach and Mentor, Los Angeles, CA

"A light bulb just went off the first time I heard Cami speak. She offered such brilliant solutions to common problems ... solutions that just made sense! Her delivery is calm yet mind-blowing all at the same time. I always look forward to seeing her present, as I know I’m going to walk away completely enlightened, having gained her insights and learned her strategies."
— Julie Cortés, Copywriter, Founder of The Freelance Exchange of Kansas City
